Joe Jett is the Director of Business Strategies and Corporate Development and a former State Representative who served five terms in the Arkansas House. Joe was instrumental in setting tax policy for Arkansas over the last ten years, including authoring the most significant tax cut act in Arkansas history and setting up the Arkansas Taxpayer Appeals Commission. He was the Chairman of the Revenue and Tax committee for four terms. Joe has also served on the Joint Budget Committee, Agriculture Forestry & Economic Development, Insurance and Commerce committees, and numerous sub-committees. Before being elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives, he served as an Aeronautical Commissioner for the state. Joe was recently appointed as an Office of Professional Conduct Committee member.
Joe’s accomplishments include being recognized by the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business as a Top 50 up-and-coming legislator. In 2019, he was selected by Arkansas Business in their 250 Arkansas most influential leaders’ class. He has been recognized numerous times by the State Chamber of Commerce, Municipal League, and other organizations for making Arkansas a better place to live.
Joe is married to his wife Lisa and lives in Success, Arkansas, on their family farm. He retired from farming and other business interests, and his sons Andy and Logan, along with their wives Blayne and Molly, now run the family farm. Joe and Lisa have four grandsons who they are incredibly proud of.
Joe graduated from Corning High School. He attended the Community College of the Air Force while he was enlisted in the USAF as an Air Traffic Controller, where he received the United States Air Force Commendation Medal. He also attended Phillips University and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds a single and multi-engine instrument flight instructor license and also an Airline Transport Pilot License. Joe is also a certified aerial firefighter and has flown numerous fire fighting missions.
Joe’s hobbies are his family, grandkids, and whatever they are doing. He also enjoys drilling holes in the sky whenever he can find the time.
